Essential Skills for Home Care Job Applicants

Delivering personal, dietary and domestic care in an individual’s home requires a range of aptitudes, whether you are an experienced home care worker or are looking for a flexible, stable long-term role to expand your knowledge and embark on a new career.

Axela Care is keen to hear from applicants with community care experience, and a care qualification at NVQ2 or above, but also welcome new candidates with the necessary attributes to meet our care delivery standards:

    • Strong communication, sensitivity, a caring nature and compassion.
    • Fluency in English with literacy and numeracy and possible fluency in other languages to support our diverse network of service users.
    • The ability to follow instructions, be committed to personal development, and willingness to work in a team or under your own initiative.
    • Flexibility, well-organised, reliable and self-motivated.

If these characteristics sound like a good match, and you have experience caring for other people in any setting, you may have the essential requirements to become a home care worker and begin your career path as a skilled care worker.
